Beneficial Insects
Beneficial insects are insects that perform valued services like pollination & pest control. Predatory mites capture & eat other insects or mites. Parasitoids are insects that parasitize other insects.
Lacewings are general predators that feed on aphids, mealybugs, scales, spider mites, thrips, whiteflies, insect eggs (leafhoppers, moths, & beetle larvae). They are best known as aphid predators & known to feed on 100s of aphid over its lifetime.
LAWN GUARDIAN™ nematodes are organic & live host raised, they're naturally predisposed to pursue host grub larvae. This Canadian strain can tolerate cold temp, so it can be applied in the spring & late fall when soil temp is above 10°C.
Mite predators are important in integrated management of mites, specifically in complex crop systems where the demand for organic and pesticide-free crops is rising.
Lacewings are general predators that eat aphids, mealybugs, scales, spider mites, thrips, whiteflies, insect eggs and beneficial insect food.
Amblyseius Swirskii are small (0.5mm) tan coloured mite that originate from Mediterranean. In ideal conditions, they can be found on the upper sections of pollinating plants. Swirskii feed on whiteflies, thirp & some pollen & spider mites.
The beneficial nematode Nems, controls fungus gnats, black vine weevils, mushroom flies, craneflies, sciarid larvae, thrip & other pest larva in the soil.
Neoseuilus Cucumbers are small (0.5 mm) cream coloured mites that feed on western flower, onion, broad & cyclamen mites. Each sachet contains 1000 mites
Controlled release sachets contain 350 mites per sachet in all life stages from egg through adult. The bag acts as miniature breeding units & are hung on plants throughout the greenhouse. Over 6 weeks each bag will produce up to 3,000 Cucumeris.
Guardian for Fungus Gnat Kit is a 2 application of beneficial nematodes about 2 weeks apart. The kit contains yellow sticky cards with twist ties for trapping adults.

Contains 3 spider mite predators including Phytoseiulus persimilis, Stethorus punctillum & Amblyseius fallacis.
All insects are sent in separate containers
Rove Beetles can fly quite well with their functional hind wings tucked carefully underneath. They feed on fungus gnat & shore fly larvae. All stages actively search for prey. Adult beetles & larvae will search for eggs, young larvae & pupae.
