Lion’s Mane, Hericeum erinaceus, are a delicious edible mushroom in the shape of a white pom pom. Within weeks you will enjoy your first crop of mushrooms grown indoors on your counter top. Kits may also be grown outdoors during the spring and fall.
Chestnut mushrooms are anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, & anti-fungal. Rich with vitamins B3 & B5, they contain more vitamin B2 than most garden vegetables. They have an earthy aroma & mildly sweet flavour with distinct hints of nuttiness.
White oyster mushrooms are rich in antioxidant compounds such as flavonoids & phenolics. These have a subtle seafood flavor with hints of anise & a faint, earthy taste.
Black oyster mushrooms are highly nutritious. they have a slightly chewy texture & are soft with a bittersweet aroma reminiscent of anise. They also have a mild, sweet, & nutty, umami-forward flavour.
Blue oyster mushrooms are a good source of protein. They have antimicrobial properties, known to help treat cancer, antioxidant properties to aid in lowering cholesterol & help manage diabetes. Meaty or savoury flavour, some say a mild seafood taste.
Pink oyster mushrooms are full of vitamin B5 & B3 to help boost your immune system. They taste like bacon or ham, their flavour intensifies when cooked. This makes them a wonderful meat substitute in many dishes. They have a pungent aroma.
